Session 12

Class Work.

games

Today we will develop a very useful tool, not just for the linguistic results but for the motivation it generates in the students. Through games, the students feel they learn more (I would say that it is possible with certain conditions) and they feel much more inclined to dedicate time to them.

Forum:

As with technology, it seems to be common sense to think that the only presence of games in the classroom is going to improve the learning. In fact, I think games are important for many things, but I don´t agree that they are THE learning tool and that the only way to have an interesting class is to have games in it. I use them for specific purposes, but as a way to achieve a goal, not as the goal itself.

What do you think about the use of games in the EFL classroom? When have you used them and to what purpose?

Name and explain 3 specific advantages of the use of games for language learning.
